You Can Always Depend On The Kindness Of Strangers ❤️
Updated: Aug 14, 2019
This will probably seem like a 'gushy' post, but it has to be done I'm afraid...I have been so overwhelmed by the kindness of the people in the 'Diabetic Community'. I'm part of two forums:
I've been made to feel so welcome and have had so much support already. Although we are all strangers, there seems to be a real comradery and people take a genuine interest in each individuals story/ journey.
Not only have the forums been a godsend, the members have shown so much support for this blog.
I didn't really know what to expect by putting myself 'out there' like this, but Diabetic Unicorn has hit over 100 readers in just three days! I've also had one VERY kind lady reach out to me via the DU Facebook page to offer her support.
I also have Fibromyalgia and I am part of a few forums and follow some Facebook pages. It just isn't the same. Every post becomes a competition over who has the worst case of Fibro and posts that are intended to make people laugh are received with the crying emoji.
I may seem blunt, but there is definitely a 'woe is me' attitude and it drives me insane. Why would you WANT to be suffering the most?
So... to all of you reading this and to those active on the forums, keep up the good work! It really is appreciated 🙌🏼❤️
